- SCANNED AND FOUND ECM (Engine Control Module – DME/DDE) 3 problems exist 1.2C DME: Signal, Thermal Oil-Level Sensor 2.8F DME: Electronics-Box Fan 3.69 DME: Signal, Engine Temperature, Implausible. CHECKED ENGINE TEMPERATURE CONNECTION AND WIRES, FOUND OK. CHECKED READING WITH SCANNER AND AT 215F THE GAUGE IS AT 3/4.. IT DOES NOT GO ANY HIGHER THAN THAT. VEHICLE DOES NOT SHOW ANY SIGNS OF OVERHEATING,, COOLANT LINES AT NORMAL PRESSURE AND NO LEAKS PRESENT..
- REMOVED AND REPLACED COOLING TEMPERATURE SENSOR, ADJUSTED COOLANT LEVEL AND BLEED SYSTEM.. FOUND VEHICLE OVERHEATING.. GAUGE NEEDLE GOING UP TO 3/4.. MUST DIAGNOSE FURTHER. AFTER FURTHER TEST DRIVES AND DIAGNOSIS, TEMPERATURE CONTINUES TO GO TO 3/4 BUT THE TEMPERATURE AT RADIATOR HOSES AT NORMAL 195F AT THERMOSTAT OUTLET, AND ENGINE INPUT AT 140F.. COOLANT FLOW RESTRICTED AT THERMOSTAT OR RADIATOR.
- REMOVED THERMOSTAT AND FOUND SIGNS OF STICKING. SHINNY AREAS AT MOVING CENTER.. INSTALLED THERMOSTAT AND TEST DROVE.. VEHICLE CONTINUES TO GO TO 3/4 ON THE GAUGE.. AS A GOODWILL REMOVED THE WATER PUMP FOR INSPECTION AND RADIATOR TO FLUSH.. BOTH COMPONENTS WHERE REPLACED, DURING THE REPLACEMENT NOTICED FAN CLUTCH FREEWHEEL WITH NO RESTRICTION. REPLACED THE FAN CLUTCH AS WELL. ADJUSTED COOLANT SYSTEM AND TEST DROVE AGAIN.. NO CHANGE.. TEMPERATURE GAUGE CONTINUES TO GO AT 3/4 AND NOT HIGHER.. NOT OVERHEATING TO RED LINE AND NO COOLANT PRESSURE.. AS A LAST ATTEMPT TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE THE OIL LEVER/TEMP SENSOR WAS REPLACED SINCE IT WAS TESTING FAULTY AND CAN AFFECT TEMPERATURE READING. TESTED COOLANT SYSTEM WITH A COMBUSTION LEAK DETECTOR AND IT CAME OUT POSITIVE FOR MINOR LEAK FROM HEAD GASKET. SEND VIDEO TO CUSTOMER.. CUSTOMER DECLINED ANY ADDITIONAL WORK AND WILL TAKE AS IS.. CUSTOMER WAS EXPLAINED THAT ABOUT ALL THE COOLANT SYSTEM COMPONENTS PLUS RELATED SENSORS THAT WHERE REPLACED A NO COST TO HER.
- REMOVED AND REPLACED ELECTRIC BOX FAN MOTOR
- REMOVED AND REPLACED AC BELT
- OIL LEVEL SENSOR WAS REPLACED AS A GOODWILL
